Viapará: nature, views and family entertainment in the heart of Riosa

The Viapará Recreational Area, in the council of Riosa, is one of those places that surprise for its beauty and for everything it offers to spend a full day outdoors. Located at the beginning of the emblematic ascent to the Angliru, this space combines nature, tranquility and comfort, making it an ideal option to enjoy with the family.

Nestled in the Sierra del Aramo, Viapará offers a privileged environment, with green meadows, forests and a panoramic view that on clear days allows you to see much of the central area of Asturias, and even reach the line of the Cantabrian Sea. The views from there are, without a doubt, one of its great attractions.

In addition to the landscape, the area has tables, wooden benches, fountains and grills, all prepared to organize picnics or simply relax while the little ones enjoy the open space. The area is easily accessible by car and parking is available.

For hiking enthusiasts, Viapará is also the starting point for several routes. One of the most recommended is the one that leads to the Mirador Roberto Heras, a circular route of just over 5 km that can be completed in less than two hours. During the walk you will pass through wooded areas and open stretches with spectacular views. You can also choose to continue towards the Alto de l'Angliru, following the same road.
