Discover Bueño, the village of granaries
09/07/2025Stage 13 of La Vuelta 2025 started in Cabezón de la Sal (Cantabria) and finished at the legendary Alto de l’Angliru (Riosa). Riders covered 202.7 km in a high-mountain stage full of spectacle and excitement until the very end.
After several intermediate climbs, the peloton faced the feared Angliru ascent, with gradients of up to 23%. In the final kilometers, only the top favorites remained: João Almeida, Jonas Vingegaard, Sepp Kuss, and Jai Hindley. In the end, the Portuguese rider from UAE Team Emirates-XRG triumphed in a thrilling sprint at the summit.
Almeida took the victory with a time of 4 hours, 54 minutes, and 15 seconds, followed by Jonas Vingegaard, who kept the red leader’s jersey with a narrow 46-second advantage in the general classification.
The climb was accompanied by an extraordinary atmosphere: nearly 50,000 fans lined the steep slopes of the Angliru, turning the stage into a true cycling festival.
